Career Documentation for the Visual Artist

This free educational workbook provides a breadth of information and perspectives about legacy planning for artists, along with practical tools that support engagement with this long-term, and sometimes challenging, process. The guide is part of the Joan Mitchell Foundation’s Creating a Living Legacy (CALL) initiative, which for nearly 15 years has supported artists in their efforts to catalogue, manage, and preserve their life’s work.

POLLOCK-KRASNER FOUNDATION GRANT

Pollock-Krasner grants have enabled artists to create new work, purchase needed materials, and pay for studio rent, as well as their expenses. Past recipients of Pollock-Krasner grants acknowledge their critical impact in allowing concentrated time for studio work and in preparing for exhibitions and other professional opportunities, such as accepting a residency.

Brewerytown Paperboy Open for Proposals

Brewerytown Paperboy is seeking proposals from artists, community organizations, & beyond who are interested in hosting events with us! These events could include anything from exhibitions and workshops to talks, screenings, or gatherings that bring people together around art, history, and connection.

The Lancaster Avenue 21st Century Business Association CDC (LA21) was founded in 2008 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity organization founded in Philadelphia and specifically serves the West Philadelphia community on Lancaster Avenue from 34th to Lansdowne streets (over 20 city blocks), Market Street from 34th to 38th streets and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Black Girl Ventures

At BGV, we create access to capital, capacity, and community for under-resourced entrepreneurs that enable business sustainability and create intergenerational wealth for a more equitable society. We have funded over 450 under-resourced founders, held over 50 BGV Pitch Programs across 15 cities, and served over 41,712 founders. Our pitch alumni are collectively generating over $10M in revenue and supporting over 5,148 jobs. We currently have four signature programs (BGV NextGen, Emerging Leaders Fellowship 2.0, BGV Connect and Pull Up & Pitch) and is now the largest ecosystem builder for under-resourced founders.

Business Resource and Innovation Center at the Free Library in Philadelphia

The Business Resource and Innovation Center (BRIC) at the Free Library of Philadelphia supports entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and inventors at every stage, helping to improve their skills through individualized guidance in research, public programs, and curated print and digital resources. We create multiple entry points for those with ideas, plans, skills, and passions, enabling people to make fact-based decisions in order to fulfill their goals.
